Experience and background

Learning, teaching and the effects and consequences of education later in life has been my main research interest throughout my career. I am a sociologist, educated in the Netherlands. Currently, I study how police education enables police students to solve their important mission in society. I teach and supervise master's students and colleagues in (quantitative) research methods. I am research group leader of 'Police Education, Learning Environment and Students (PULS)', and coordinator of the international network 'Recruitment, Education and Careers in the Police (RECPOL)'.
