Life as a Police Student
The daily life of police students is varied, exciting, and, most importantly, fun. Here you can get an insight into what everyday life is like on the different campuses and how the different years of study are.
First Year of Study: B1
The first year at the Norwegian Police University College is about learning the basics of police work. You will receive both theoretical and practical training, learn about laws, investigation, and public safety. You will also participate in physical training and exercises to prepare for the police job. The year will involve a lot of collaboration with fellow students and instructors, which is important for preparing you for the challenges you will face as a police officer.
Second Year of Study: B2
In the second year at the Norwegian Police University College, you build on what you learned in the first year. A significant part of the year is practical training in a police district, where you apply what you have learned in real situations. Collaboration and reflection are important, and you work closely with experienced police officers and mentors to develop as a police officer.
Third Year of Study: B3
In the third year at the Norwegian Police University College, you build on the experiences from your practical training. You gain new theoretical and practical knowledge and spend three weeks in a camp to practice various situations you may encounter as a police officer. An important part of the year is writing a bachelor's thesis, where you can delve into a topic that interests you. Through this work, you develop research skills, analytical abilities, and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and structured.
