Third Year of Study: B3
In the third year at Politihøgskolen, you further develop your experiences from your internship. You will gain both new theoretical and practical knowledge, with a strong emphasis on academic development, critical reflection, and awareness of attitudes and values. This year gives you the opportunity to refine your skills and prepare for an exciting career in the police.
What You Will Learn
Throughout the year, you will work on several important subjects. The bachelor's thesis gives you the chance to delve into a topic you are passionate about, while the investigation course teaches you advanced methods and techniques to ensure quality in investigations.
You will also further develop your skills in preventive police work and gain a deeper understanding of crime, society, and ethics. The police patrol course builds on your operational skills, focusing on everything from the use of firearms to conflict management and first aid. This year is designed to make you a versatile and competent police officer.
One of the most exciting parts of the third year is the camp period. For three weeks, you will be at a camp in either Kongsvinger or Stavern, where you will practice planning and handling various situations you may encounter as a police officer. This gives you a unique opportunity to test what you have learned when interning, in a safe environment.
