You Must Register for Physical Tests

If you meet the admission requirements and have completed both the digital tests and video interview, you will compete for a place in the physical tests.

If you qualify for a place, you will receive an invitation to the physical tests. The invitation will include information on how to register. If you do not qualify for a place in the physical tests, you will be notified.

There is space for everyone who has received an invitation to the physical tests. However, if you need a specific date, time, or location, we recommend that you register as soon as possible. Registration is on a "first come, first served" basis regarding the choice of time and place.

If you do not register by the deadline, you cannot participate in the physical tests unless you can document a very good reason for not registering. An example of a valid reason would be if you were hospitalized during the registration period and provide documentation of this.

You Will Be Assessed for Suitability

Politihøgskolens  admissions committee conducts a suitability assessment to determine if you are suitable for admission to the police education program. The purpose of the suitability assessment is to measure your potential to complete the police education and later serve in the police force.

The suitability assessment begins with you completing three digital tests and a video interview in April. Then, if you meet the admission requirements and have completed both the digital tests and the video interview, you may receive an invitation to the physical tests.

Basic Assessment

If you pass the physical tests, one of Politihøgskolen's admissions committees will assess whether you are suitable for admission based on your results from the digital tests and video interview. This is the first step in the suitability assessment and is called the basic assessment. If the admissions committee deems you suitable after the basic assessment, you are considered qualified for admission and will compete for a study place.

Extended Interview

For all applicants about whom the admissions committee has doubts, an extended interview will be conducted. If this applies to you, you will receive a separate invitation to the extended interview, and you must register yourself. The extended interview is conducted on Teams by a member of the admissions committee. The interview lasts about 45 minutes and follows a standardized interview template to ensure all applicants are treated as equally as possible.

If you are called for an extended interview, you will be notified by the midlle of June at the latest.

After all applicants who were called for an extended interview have been assessed, rejections will be sent to those who were not found suitable. Rejections will be sent out in the first week of July.

Applicants who are found suitable will not receive a separate notification but will find out if they have been offered a study place in the main admission on July 20th.

You Have a Duty to Report Contact with the Police

You have a duty to report to the Police University College if, between February 1st and the start of the academic year, you become involved in criminal activities, disturbances of public order, or come into negative contact with the police. This also applies to ongoing criminal cases where you are detained, suspected, or charged with an offense, but the case has not yet been resolved.

Any incidents must be reported in writing. You report via Digipost to "Politihøgskolen - opptak."

Simplified fines are not considered in the assessment of conduct and suitability for admission to the Police University College. Therefore, you should not submit copies of or inform about simplified fines, or provide information about offenses/incidents that have resulted in simplified fines.
