Experience and background
I hold a Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Oslo (2019). My research focuses broadly on technology, examining how it is utilized by the police and how it shapes and transforms police operations, both intentionally and unintentionally. I have conducted fieldwork in several police districts, including various control rooms, the drone services, emergency response units, and the Police IT Services. Currently, I am lead on the research project "A Matter of Facts" (funded by the Research Council of Norway). I am also one of the editors for the Nordic Journal of Studies in Policing and serve as the liaison for the European Working Group on Policing (ERC). I primarily teach on the master’s program in Police Science, where I am responsible for the course "Knowledge Management and Knowledge Practices in the Police." Additionally, I have taught several courses at the department of further education, at the bachelor's program, and for the Experience-based Master of Investigation. I have supervised students at all levels (BA, MA, and Ph.D.).
