Experience and background
I am a sociologist and completed my doctorate at the University of Tromsø in 2005. I am currently working on a research project on knowledge-based prevention in the new police organization (cf. Neighborhood Police Reform). I am also working on a project in connection with the Norwegian Police University College's 100th anniversary. Here I am concerned with how the ideal of knowledge-based police work was implemented in police education, how this implementation took place, and what was the rationale. I also investigate whether the ideal of knowledge-based police work has over time been understood and practiced in different ways in education.
