- You are automatically registered for the first (1st) exam attempt.
- If you do not get a passing exam result after the first (1st) attempt, you must register yourself for another attempt.
- If you do not pass the exam after the 3rd (third) attempt, you may lose your right to study and you must leave us.
- You can apply for a dispensation for a 4th (fourth) exam attempt. See study regulations § 3-3. Number of exam attempts (The study regulations are in Norwegian).
- Even if you have several exam attempts left, it is not certain that you will be able to use all 3 (three) attempts. This can happen if you have lost your right to study, for example because you have exceeded the limit for how long you can be delayed, or used up the improvement attempt.
- If you are a former bachelor's student, it may still be possible to take an exam you have not passed despite the fact that your right to study has expired. This is only possible if you have not used up your 3 (three) attempts. You cannot apply for a 4th (fourth) attempt.
See the study regulations § 3-2 (8) (The study regulations are in Norwegian).
