Exam registration
Ordinary exam
An ordinary exam is the exam that follows the course's study plan. All students who wish to retake or improve their exam can register for the ordinary exam.
You will be automatically registered for the first exam in the course.
New exam
A new exam is generally scheduled for the next semester. This exam is for all students who do not have a result in the course. You cannot register for a new exam to improve your grade. If you had a valid absence when you were supposed to improve your grade, you will still have the right to take the new exam.
Registration for submission of master's thesis
To register for the submission of your master's thesis, you must submit the form by the specified deadline.

How to register for an exam?
For the first exam, you do not need to register yourself. You will be registered by the Study Administration. You can find information about the courses you are registered for on Studentweb. Here you will also find information about the schedule and exam locations.
If you are taking an exam in a course you have previously attempted or where valid absence has been recorded, you can go to the results page on Studentweb and click the 'Retake course' button. You will then be registered for the exam. For a new exam, the Canvas course from the previous semester will be used. Contact the Study Administration if you do not have access to this.
When registering for an ordinary exam, you will have access to Canvas if you also register for teaching when you register for the exam. Remember to delete the coursework requirement from the registration.
I can't register for the exam on Studentweb
There may be several reasons why you cannot register on Studentweb:
- It is your third exam attempt
- You are submitting a master's thesis
- You are a former student looking to improve results
