Georgina Humphries

Associate Professor / Team Leader

Experience and background

As an Associate Professor in the Postgraduate Studies Department, I am heavily involved in digital/cyber forensics education and training. Holding a degree in Forensic Computing and a PhD in Computing, with a specialised focus on digital forensics education, my academic and professional paths have been both challenging and fulfilling. I have held significant roles on European funded projects such as FORMOBILE (From mobile phones to court - A complete FORensic investigation chain targeting MOBILE devices) and TREIO (TRaining on the European Investigation Order). I have taken an active role in guiding and contributing to multiple projects backed by diverse funding channels. My experience in stakeholder engagement and my efforts in forging and nurturing both internal and external partnerships have been pivotal to my journey. Since September 2023, I have embraced the role of Team Leader in the Investigation Section, leading academic administrative and professional duties for our team focused on digital policing, cybercrime, and investigation.
