Your learning outcomes
You will learn about the police's role in society and the various tasks the police have in prevention, patrolling, and investigation. To become a good police officer, you will, among other things, learn about the law, acquire knowledge about people in vulnerable situations, and skills in arrest techniques.
Theory and Practice
The police education consists of a mix of theory and practice. There will be lectures, classroom sessions, exercises, group assignments, and self-study. A fair amount of homework and preparation for exercises and assignments is required. The education includes various forms of assessment, such as home assignments or written, oral, and practical exams.
Varied Schedule
The police education is a full-time study, so you are expected to spend 45 hours a week on the program. The amount of teaching varies each week. Some weeks may have full days, while other weeks have fewer hours on the schedule and more time for self-study. It can be challenging to combine the education with a part-time job. Some classes are mandatory, and at times, you will have lessons at locations other than your main study site.
Application and Admission
When you apply for admission to the police education, you must go through several steps to compete for a study place.
