Background and experience

I am a political scientist and criminologist, holding a PhD in criminology from the University of Oslo (2021). I am currently leading a research project investigating the Norwegian police’s use of force. A key focus of this project is on how power and its exercise are perceived and understood by police officers and police managers. I also have a scholarly interest in collaborative practices between the public, private, and voluntary actors, as well as research on topics such as drug and crime prevention, safety, security, plural policing, and transportation security.
