Background and experience
I am a political scientist researching the development and prevention of political violence, terrorism, and extremism. My doctoral project investigates (the evolution of) state and police approaches to this phenomenon across multiple Western democracies, focusing particularly on the concept of 'liberal-democratic overreach'. I am interested in research triangulation and employ both quantitative and qualitative methods. I am also affiliated with the Center for Research on Extremism (C-REX) at the University of Oslo, where I lead the annual update of the Right-wing Terrorism and Violence in Western Europe (RTV) dataset.
