Remember that you will also find important information in your offer letter.

You can find your offer letter as a PDF attachment in the message "Read your response letter in the main admission 2024" in the inbox on samordnaopptak.no.

You will receive the final response to your application in the main admission on July 20. If you have questions about the admission, you can send us an email at opptak@phs.no.

Before the start of studies

Admission and response to offers

Remember that you must respond to the offer of admission or waitlist placement by the deadline in your offer letter.

For applicants on the waitlist, the first round of any new offers will be sent out at the end of July.

You can read more about responding to offers, supplementary admissions, and filling vacancies at samordnaopptak.no.

Reservation of study place

You can reserve your study place for up to two years. The right to reserve a study place is limited and only applies to conscription, childbirth, adoption, or other compelling reasons.

How to reserve your study place

First, you must accept the study offer sent via Samordna opptak by the deadline.

Go to Samordna opptak to respond to the offer.

Then you must submit an application to the Police University College by email at opptak@phs.no.

In the application, you must include documentation on why you wish to reserve your place. Appropriate documentation includes a conscription notice or a medical certificate. Remember that you must apply no later than three weeks after you received the offer.

If you have reserved a study place

If your application for reservation is granted, you must still apply for admission again next year. You apply via Samordna opptak. However, you do not need to retake the admission tests. All admission requirements, including the requirement for a clean criminal record and an approved medical certificate, must be documented again at the next admission.

Read more about reserving a study place at Samordna opptak.

Control of documents

A random selection of students will be asked to present original documents for document control after the start of studies. You should not bring the documents on the first day of school, but you must have them readily available in case you are selected.

First day of studies

Attendance and ID check

The first day of studies includes an opening ceremony. Before the ceremony, all new police students must attend an ID check. Remember to bring a government-approved ID (passport, national ID card, driver's license, or bank card with a photo).

Information about the location and time for attendance can be found in your offer letter.

Mandatory attendance

You may lose your study place if you do not attend the start of studies unless the Police University College has approved the absence. Absence is only approved after a written application to the study office at the campus where you have been admitted.

If you have been on the waitlist and received an offer of a study place after the start of studies, you must contact the study office to arrange a time for attendance. (insert link to study office/contact pages)

Practical information

When your user account is ready, you will receive an SMS from us with instructions on how to activate your user account. This happens close to the start of studies, no later than Thursday the week before. Read the welcome letter on Samordna opptak for more information.
