Control of documents

A random selection of students will be asked to present original documents for document control after the start of studies. Document control is only conducted in connection with admission to the bachelor's program.

All new bachelor's students must have the originals of their application documents readily available. By application documents, we mean, for example, your diploma, certificate of competence, service certificate from military service, diploma from folk high school, or work certificates. You do not need to submit your medical certificate or police certificate again.

Students who cannot submit originals by the deadline risk losing their study place immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is selected for document control?

A random selection of students will be asked to present original documents for document control after the start of studies. This does not mean you were selected for document control because your documentation is suspected to be fake.

What is checked in document control?

In document control, we check that the documentation you used in your application is genuine and not forged. We check, for example, your diploma, certificate of competence, service certificate from military service, diploma from folk high school, or similar.

I don't have original documentation - can I lose my study place?

If you do not have the original documentation, you must contact us as soon as possible by email at opptak@phs.no to inform us. You should also try your best to obtain new documentation. For example, if you have lost your service certificate from the military, you can usually get a new one issued by the Armed Forces.

Applicants who do not submit satisfactory documentation risk losing their study place.

What happens if I do not submit the requested documentation?

If you do not submit documentation by the deadline and do not have a valid reason for this, you risk losing your study place.

I only have an electronic diploma - do I need to submit anything?

No. If your score is calculated solely based on an electronic diploma, you do not need to submit anything for document control.

If you have additional points for completed military service, vocational school, or folk high school, you must submit a service certificate or diploma.

If you have completed other higher education, and this is registered in your online application at Samordna opptak, you do not need to submit documentation for this.

When must the documents be submitted?

Those selected for document control will receive a separate email with more information during week 37. The deadline for submitting the documents will be in the second half of September.

You should not bring the documents on the first day of school, but you must have them readily available in case you are selected for control. If you are moving in connection with the start of studies, remember to bring the relevant documents from home to the study location.

Where do I submit the documents?

The documentation must be submitted to your local study office.

When will I get the documents back?

You will get the documents back approximately 3-4 weeks after submission. If you need them back sooner, you must contact us by email at opptak@phs.no.
