Special needs
You can apply for accommodation. We usually respond within 4 weeks. In cases where the processing time exceeds 4 weeks, you will receive a temporary response from us acknowledging receipt of your application and providing the expected processing time.
If you can document that you have a disability or a special need, you may be entitled to individual accommodation for the learning environment, teaching, learning materials, and exams.
You cannot receive so much accommodation that it would lead to a reduction in the academic requirements of the program you are admitted to. Nor can you receive accommodation for something that would have disqualified you from admission.
The type of accommodation you can receive is determined after an individual assessment of your situation.
Who can request individual accomodation?
You can receive accommodations for:
- Injury or illness
- Psychosocial conditions
- Learning difficulties
- Pregnancy/parental leave
- Elite athlete
- Active military service
- Other special reasons
Individual adaption in everyday study
You can receive individual adaption in everyday study in certain cases. Anything related to coursework, mandatory classes, or other academic needs outside of exams should be discussed with the course coordinator.
If you are prevented from completing your studies, you can apply for Leave of Absence.
Contact the Study Administration and ask for guidance if you are unsure on which adaptation is possible.
Pregnancy and parental leave
If you are pregnant, you have the right to a postponed exam if the exam date is within the period from three weeks before the due date to six weeks after birth.
If you are the child's other parent, you have the right to a postponed exam if the exam date is within the period from the birth to two weeks after birth.
Special examination arrangements
For written school exams and home exams with limited time, you can be granted extra time. The amount of extra time you are granted depends on the length of the exam. The time will be specified on Studentweb.
For exams in physical capacities, you can receive adapted exercises. Information about alternative exercises can be found on Canvas in the course room OPERATIV03.
For practical/oral exams, for example, if you are called up for military exercises, you can get an adjusted time for completion.
