Background and experience
I hold a degree in criminology and conduct research on geographic crime patterns, social vulnerability and strategies for crime prevention, including predictive policing. My analyses focus on mapping how different types of crime are concentrated in time and space, and on identifying if there is any systematic variation in these patterns. In connection with this, I evaluate various data-driven methods that could be used to predict where and when crime may occur, and discuss their potential application for the Norwegian police. Alongside my doctoral project, I work as a university lecturer in quantitative methods and participate in projects on crime trends, vulnerable areas, and police efficiency.
