The Knowledge Centre
The Norwegian Police University College (NPUC) aims to provide updated and relevant knowledge to the police and justice sector. By merging the NPUC's library and the National Coordinating Unit for the Investigative field, we are bringing together employees focused on supporting professional and knowledge development. This creates a stronger basis for our current services and establishes a foundation for future growth.
Who are we?
The Knowledge Centre has 10 employees and are organized under the Pro-Rector for Research and Dissemination. Our team handles various tasks that contribute to professional and knowledge development in the police. The library serves all employees and students affiliated with NPUC and employees in police districts, special units, and other parts of the justice sector. The National Coordinating Unit plays a role in professional development for investigations, providing coordination, quality assurance, dissemination, and support for national governing documents.

Future ambitions
Further development of current services
We will continue to develop our services to ensure they are relevant and useful. In the short term, we will define the role of the Knowledge Centre in the new "Tjenestemodellen", which will replace the current National Coordinating Unit, and help the police adopt a common approach to professional and service development across all areas.
Additionally, we will expand our offerings to enhance the police's ability to stay ahead and work knowledge-based.
Develop systematic knowledge summaries
We will create systematic knowledge summaries that compile all research on a given topic. This provides a balanced view of what research can contribute to an issue, leading to stronger conclusions. Initially, the Knowledge Centre will deliver certain types of summaries through collaboration with researchers and external partners, both on request and on its own initiative. In the long term, we aim to build greater capacity to deliver more types of summaries.
Collaborate and supplement
The Knowledge Centre will collaborate with research and analysis environments and other relevant partners, both within and outside the police. We will supplement existing knowledge production in the police, such as intelligence reports and threat assessments.
