Outgoing exchange for master students

During master studies 15 ECTS (elective courses) can be taken at an institution abroad. We also offer the possibility of international supervision of the master thesis.

Elective courses abroad

It takes time to organize an outgoing exchange, so it is smart to start the planning at least one year before your travelling. The course(s) you plan to take must be approved for it to be part of the master's degree. If you have a course abroad you want to apply to, the head of the master study can consider whether or not it can be approved.

Interntional supervision of the master thesis

Through an agreement with the Estonian academy of security studies (EASS) we can offer up to two spots each semester for international supervision of the master thesis on topics EASS are experts on.

To have time to plan for this exchange and help you with both the practical and academic aspects of the exchange you have to contact us at the international unit at international@phs.no before 1. December for exchange in the spring and 1. June for the fall. Send an abstract of what you are writing your thesis about and which method you are using (maximum 1 page).

Financing and practical facilitation

To check for possibilites for financing and other practical questions, contact the international unit at international@phs.no.
