Over the course of three days, participants will gain insight into pressing issues related to big data and surveillance, the role of technology in investigations and judicial processes, as well as future crime trends and strategies. The program features keynote lectures from leading experts alongside parallel academic sessions.
The conference addresses three main themes, each highlighting different aspects of digital policing:
Stream 1 explores big data and how the use of data analysis for crime forecasting and intelligence products raises questions about digital surveillance, social control, and the police’s reliance on private providers of digital infrastructure.
Stream 2 focuses on the intersection of policing, the justice system, and technology, where the use of digital evidence and new technological solutions presents both opportunities and challenges for investigations and court proceedings.
Stream 3 looks ahead to future crime prevention in an increasingly digitalized world, inviting discussion on emerging forms of crime and strategies for prevention and investigation in the digital society.
The conference is free of charge, and we warmly welcome participants from both the police and academia.
It will take place at the Police University College campus in Oslo. Visit the Policing in the Digital Society Network website for more information about the program and practical details.
