In a rapidly changing world, knowledge production, cooperation and interaction are not only key attributes of intelligence agencies, but also keys to understanding the increasingly important role that intelligence plays in our societies. The expansion of intelligence capacities, the increase in intelligence cooperation, and the proliferation of ways in which intelligence interacts with civil society are developments that must be continuously scrutinized to adopt the epistemic authority, trust and legitimacy of Scandinavian intelligence to the everchanging security landscape. They are developments that should be met with increased knowledge production, cooperation and interaction from researchers and practitioners alike.
In the past few years, a new stream of academic interest in Scandinavian intelligence has emerged. This new wave of Scandinavian intelligence studies argues that detailed knowledge of the societal, historical and cultural context is necessary for understanding, assessing and improving intelligence practices. By bringing together Scandinavian researchers and practitioners, this seminar aims to promote the production of such knowledge, in order to maintain and develop further the foundations of Scandinavian intelligence.
Registration for the seminar is closed. Questions about registration can be adressed to ingbru@phs.no
