Stavern City

Stavern has been voted the summer city of the year four years in a row, but our students enjoy it here all year round. A good and social environment and beautiful nature are highlighted by most as the best parts of being a student here.

Stavern is a very social and great place to study! I think it has been an advantage to be close to each other during the study period, as there are many things that are challenging and new. Highly recommended!

Student life

Being a student in Stavern is something quite special. Here, you will enter a safe and open environment from the start, where everyone knows everyone, lives close to each other, and constantly does things together. The police students are the only students in the town, and there are just under 200 places each year, so the community is small but strong.

A lot of the social life in Stavern revolves around exercise. Whether you like padel, crossfit, volleyball, or just want to go for a run, there are great opportunities here, and always someone to train with. The beautiful coastal path is frequently used for walks. Additionally, you can rent kayaks and SUPs, or take diving courses and join trips (NO).

We share Fredriksvern Verft with several art exhibitions and galleries. For example, you can visit Krutthuset, which is used for exhibitions, the Hall of Rememberence, and not least, you can see the Peace Ships - a sound and art installation by Päivi Laakso.

Every summer,Stavernfestivalen (NO) is held. The festival, which lasts for four days, is attended by around 75,000 participants and has featured artists such as Ed Sheeran, Karpe, Undergrunn, Sigrid, and Post Malone.
