Experience and background

I am a criminologist and for many years have worked with issues related to masculinity, crime, violence and equality, particularly from a male perspective. Now I am researching challenges related to recruiting female emergency personnel in the police, police culture and gender equality in the police. At the same time, I am also studying the national emergency unit Crisis and hostage negotiators. As a researcher at the Norwegian Police University College, I participate in the research group Police methods in change. I am also head of studies for the master's programmes.
